SUPPORTING TEACHING, SHAPING CAREERS
The online database of presentations to help teach medical students.
TeachMedics was founded by five junior doctors passionate about improving medical education, improving opportunities to teach or learn from a wider target audience, and de-mystifying the process of job applications for medical students and junior doctors.
Our aims are to address gaps in the current levels of validated resources available.

Junior doctors are delivering an increasingly larger proportion of ad-hoc and ward-based teaching for medical students. To feed this growth, innovative tutorial booking and feedback systems have developed.
Our vision is formalise the way medical students are taught on an ad-hoc basis in order to further improve the educational experience.
What remains missing however is a network of validated resources for those keen to teach but without the time to develop libraries of powerpoints covering the entirety of clinical medicine. In the absence of such materials, some clinicians may feel dissuaded from teaching or there may be significant content variations between clinicians. TeachMedics solves this problem. We have generated a resource library available to all clinicians for teaching, and our phase I aims to cover the core syllabus of UK final year medical students. All presentations are reviewed by senior doctors prior to publication and regularly updated using feedback 'from the field’. This ensures our content is both up-to-date and as easy to deliver as possible, thus helping the large number of enthusiastic doctors to teach to UK medical students.
TeachMedics Presentations are approximately 20-30 minutes in duration for each topic. They are are free to use and with a built-in on-line feedback system, storing your teaching history and keeping it safe is quick, easy, and reliable.
We run an annual F1 induction course to help final year students transition smoothly into their first jobs as junior doctors.
In addition, we run a free OSCE day for final year medical students to provide key knowledge and advice prior to their assessments.
In the future we hope to offer individualised tutorials tailored to your needs - be they exam preparation, clinical teaching, or interview practise.
